Garnberg Kindergarten hunts for robbers with Punch and Seppel

Künzelsau, June 11, 2018As Chairwoman of the Albert Berner Foundation, Ursula Berner is committed to a multifaceted children’s cultural program in Künzelsau. Thanks to her commitment, the public will be able to attend plays in the city hall at a reduced admission price once again this year. Tomorrow, Tuesday, 12 June 2018, the curtain will open on Otfried Preußler’s “The Robber Hotzenplotz”.

At the invitation of the Albert Berner Foundation, pre-school children from the Garnberg Kindergarten will also attend and will certainly be excited when Punch and Seppel chase the rascal who robbed Grandmother’s coffee grinder. Berner employees had a nice surprise in store for the boys and girls: free tickets for the performance in the city hall. A visit to the kindergarten showed that the new generation is well-prepared for the play. For example, a poster of the performance hangs on the wall. And naturally, there is also a copy of the classic children’s book on the bookshelf for story hour.

“We regularly attend the children’s theater, so we were delighted to receive an invitation from the Albert Berner Foundation,” says Ariane Pfitzer, Garnberg Kindergarten Director. “If the weather is nice, we can combine the excursion with a walk in town.” After the performance, the young theatergoers can look forward to another gift: sponsored by the Künzelsau family business Berner, they will all receive a practical lunch box to color in.

Berner and the Garnberg Kindergarten have had a close relationship for many years. During the Advent season, for example, a collaborative cookie-baking campaign was held in the restaurant at the company’s headquarters. The cookies were sold to Berner employees at the traditional Christmas party, with a portion of the proceeds being donated to the kindergarten. The facility used the funds to purchase a mobile beverage and backpack cart. This means refreshments for the children are always ready to hand – a major benefit, especially in summer temperatures!
