Berner Group wins Silver Award at the New York Mercury Excellence Awards 2019/20
February 2020. The jury of the renowned Mercury Excellence Awards from New York has honored the Berner Group employee magazine with the Silver Award in the category “Employee Publication: Magazine”. This international distinction has been awarded for the past 34 years for outstanding PR and communications work. It was created by MerComm Inc. from New York, the world’s only independent awards organization for the communications sector.
The Mercury Excellence Award is already the second award for the employee magazine of the European B2B trading company. In November 2019, the Berner Group also won the European Excellence Award in the category “Internal Publication”. Carsten Rumpf, COO of the Berner Group: “My colleagues on the Executive Board and I were very pleased about the announcement. We are aware that we face tough competition in such competitions and it makes us all the more proud that we have been able to hold our own for the second time.”
The Berner Group is in a continual process of transformation, which is being driven forward across all European sites. The employee magazine pays tribute to this idea while communicating its corporate values.
Hauke, Maria, Florian: Each issue of the employee magazine is named after a colleague who represents the main topic of the respective issue. With its stories and true insights into the Berner Group, the magazine in five languages informs, motivates and promotes trust among the 8,200 employees throughout Europe. Since it started, the employee magazine has been realized by internal editors from the Corporate Communications department and by Superbold Design GmbH, a design bureau for branding and communication based in Munich.
Mercury Excellence Awards
The Mercury Excellence Awards are professional awards given out by MerComm Inc. from New York, the world’s only independent awards organization for the communications sector. Only outstanding work that meets the defined standards of excellence of the International Academy of Communications Arts and Sciences (IACAS) is selected. The program has been in existence for 34 years and receives more than 600 submissions from over 20 countries every year.
