Berner Group opens second pillar in the Rhine-Ruhr region
Künzelsau, May 19, 2015: In October 2015, the Berner Group (Künzelsau) will be opening a second pillar in the Rhine-Ruhr region for strategic tasks that go beyond the global locations, near the Caramba Chemicals holding company. In so doing, the company is responding to the challenges of demographic change and digital transformation.
“Many companies complain about a lack of IT specialists, engineers and high potentials,” says Christian Berner, CEO of Berner SE. “While others are only talking about the problems, we are creating concrete solutions with an additional pillar in the Rhine-Ruhr region. This will give us access to a larger pool of skilled workers.” The expansion of activities involves employees of the Berner Group’s strategic holding company and the Berner brand’s umbrella holding company. The investment also includes a partial relocation and the rebuilding of strategic resources.
Berner’s German subsidiary and founding office, as well as the BTI Group and BTI’s German subsidiary, remain unaffected. Closer cooperation with the Caramba holding company will be sought due to the proximity to the location, though the operative locations of the Caramba Group will also remain unaffected.
Along with high investments in the future strategy, the Hohenlohe location with its registered offices in Künzelsau and Ingelfingen is being invested in. The corporate group has set up a Berner Group Shared Service Center for the German market at the Hohenlohe location. Berner’s founding office in Künzelsau will be given a modern cafeteria with staff catering and further employee offers as part of its location marketing and corporate responsibility program.
Berner’s courageous step towards the Rhine-Ruhr has been taken in light of more local human resources to meet the requirements of digital transformation and the resulting new customer focus strategy. Currently, investments in the new strategy, better efficiency and higher profitability are pending.
